Jean Virgin
Jean Pucelle (death in 1334) is a painter and goldsmith French. But one knows it more as an illuminator and a main miniaturist, recognized of alive sound. It held an important workshop in Paris at the beginning of the 14th century. Very curious and in agreement with its time he will travel to Italy and Belgium to learn from novel methods.
He contributes to work out the courteous style. Its own activity is limited to the years 1320-1334, its style survives to him forty years through the work of its disciple, Jean Lenoir.
The Hours of Jeanne d' Évreux , constitute its masterpiece. Indeed its dimensions are extraordinary: 60 by 90 Misters the Books of hours were collection of prayers, for each day of the year, intended for the laic ones.
