After having been one of the administrators of the editions Bernard Grasset, Jean Vigneau creates his own publisher to Marseilles in 1941 with 22, rue de Madagascar.

Its first works leave in 1942: the New knighthoods of Henry de Montherlant, franque Sea of Charles Braibant, To know to order of Jean of the Vine-Reds, Piece Z of Jacques Spitz and Cerfs-volants of Emile Danoën.
