Jean Van Hamme

Jean Van Hamme is a Belgian scenario writer of Cartoon but also of films (for television). It was born the January 16th 1939, with Brussels (Belgium).

Laid off in sciences financial, incorporated economy political (of knowledge which it will re-use in particular for Largo Winch), Van Hamme works initially in marketing until in 1976, year when it prefers to be devoted completely to the writing. But it is as of 1968 that he writes his first scenarios for the cartoon, in particular for Paul Cuvelier ( Corentin , Epoxy ). It then will collaborate with many draftsmen: Dany, Edouard Aidans, Andre Chéret, Griffo, etc and to become a very prolific author.

His/her son Thomas is known of the public as a TV host to RTBF.
