Jean Tigana

Jean Tigana, born the June 23rd 1955 with Bamako (Mali), is old a Football or French, reconverted today as a trainer.

Career (player)

Born with the Mali, Jean Tigana arrives in France at Marseilles at the three years age with his parents. He discovers the Football with the SO Caillols (district of Marseilles) where some later Eric Cantona will pass.

Fine and technical medium ground, Jean takes his first steps in championship of France to the Sporting Toulon in 1975. It decides in 1986 to take its international retreat at the conclusion of the world cup during which France will finish third, but two years later the selector (Michel Platini) convinces it to honor an ultimate selection vis-a-vis the Yugoslavia the November 19th 1988 (demolished 3-2).

Finally in 1989, it leaves Bordeaux for the Olympique of Marseilles of Bernard Tapie and of new challenges, it gains two new titles of championships of France (1990 and 1991) before putting a term at its career of footballer.

Career (trainer)

To the 35 years age, Tigana puts an end to its career of player, but does not leave therefore the medium of football, since it begins a career from trainer.

First of all it engages with the Olympique Lyonese in 1993 for two seasons, after a brilliant place of vice-champion in 1995 behind FC Nantes (untouchable this year), the ACE Monaco calls upon him. Good inspiration of this club which becomes champion of France in 1997 and reached the half finales of Ligue of the Champions vis-a-vis the Juventus in 1998, Jean Tigana is pressed on players of value (Fabien Barthez, Enzo Scifo) and does not hesitate to launch young players like Thierry Henry or David Trezeguet. There will remain 4 years on the rock Monegasque before being dislocated of its functions in 1999.

One year later, it crosses the English Channel to join the London club Fulham FC which vegetates in the second division. After having succeeded in making it go up in First League and being maintained there partly thanks to a budget financed by the billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed, it will leave the club in April 2003.

After one year and half far from the grounds, it engages with the Beşiktaş in October 2005, one of the three large clubs of Istanbul. May 14th, 2007 it gives up its post of trainer of Besiktas in conflict with its leaders and decides to withdraw world of football temporarily.
