Jean Tabary

Jean Tabary is a French draftsman, born the March 5th 1930 with Stockolm, in Sweden. Its first trade is " staffeur" , decorating the ceilings with plaster scultures or " Staff ". Any young person, it charms his entourage by telling stories, then it fills with wonder its family in portraits at an incredible realism. He becomes draftsman of cartoons, at one time when it was neither a recognized trade, nor a trade which one could live.

Richard and Charlie is his first great series in Vaillant. Then Totoche, from where emerge famous the Corinne and Jeannot. Valentine the vagrant is his most poetic character, blue flower, which resembles to him more. Grabadu and Gabaliouchtou is devoted " Hero more idiots of BD" by Gotlib.

The turning in the career of Jean Tabary is his meeting with Rene Goscinny, with which it creates Iznogoud in Record then in Pilote.

At the end of the years '70, Jean Tabary binds friendship with a young journalist of Europe 1 then of Antenna 2, Francis Slomka. Together they create the Éditions BD' Star then the Éditions of Séguinière. They publish in particular two monthly magazines " nasty tricks of Corinne with Jeannot " and " récrés of Totoche " (1979 to 1981).
