Jean Syrota
Jean Syrota , born in 1937, is a French senior official and a specialist in the Energetic sector.
He is president of the commission energy of the strategic Center of analysis (CASE).
Formation
Former student of the Polytechnic school (promotion 1958), it is general engineer of the Mines.
Roles
From 1974 to 1978, it directed the Agency for the saving energy, created following the First oil crisis in order to reduce the oil consumption and the energy demand in France. Managing director of the energy and the raw materials of 1982 to 1988, chairmen of COGEMA between 1988 and 1999.
He is president of the Commission of regulation of energy (CRE) between 2000 and 2006.
Jean Syrota was sometimes recognized like “father” of energy saving, in particular through the application of the Summer-time.
