Military career

Promoted with the rank of major to the 7th regiment of hussards, the January 7th 1807, it fights with Eylau (February 8th 1807) and with Friedland (June 14th 1807) before taking the command of the 11th provisional regiment of cavalry in July 1807. The April 6th, it obtained the command of the 6th division of cavalry to the 3rd army corps of North, and took share with the combat of Fleurus, Wavres and Namur, the 15,16 and June 17th.
With the Battle of the mount Midsummer's Day, the June 18th, its division, intended to go line behind, to be opposed to the walk of the Prussian body which had escaped with Grouchy, had to support, after the combat of the day, the first shock of Blücher, and glory was covered there.
When the retirement was ordered, it brought back the remainder of its world in good order under Paris, passed the the Loire in August, and was sent by breadth marshal Macdonald to Montpellier to prepare there the dismissal of 5 regiments of the Armée with the South.
It is confirmed in its rank of general Lieutenant by Louis XVIII and receives the command of the cavalry in the military sector of Tours, but in October 1815, it is held for suspect and envoy with Péronne. It is put in non-activity on October 1st, moved away from Paris like suspect, it accepted the order to go to Péronne, where it lived in the retirement until the end of 1822.
