Jean Sainteny

Jean Sainteny or Jean Roger , (May 29th 1907 with the Vésinet - February 25th 1978), was a Politician French and a Compagnon of the Release.

Biography

Son-in-law of the president of the Council Albert Sarraut, Jean Sainteny is insurer-councils. Chief of the Normandy sector for the network of Resistance Alliance under the pseudonym " Dragon" , it is captured by Gestapo, then succeeds in escaping and becomes one of the craftsmen of the unloading in Normandy. It brings to the general Patton the information which will enable him to invest Paris.

In 1946, he is police chief of the Republic for the Tonkin and the Annam of North and negotiates with Ho Chi Minh. He interposes between the threatened French and the Vietnamese insurrectionists. Fallen in a ambush, it is wounded. After the armistice of 1954, it return to Hanoï as delegated French government.

He is general police chief with Tourism of 1959 to 1962. Elected official appointed UNR-UDT in 1962, it enters to the government Georges Pompidou in the capacity as Minister for the War veterans and War victims and is titular of this wallet between on November 28th, 1962 and on January 8th, 1966.

In 1968, it founds the Buddhist International institute which gives place to the creation of the pagoda to the wood of Vincennes.

From 1968 to 1977, he is member of the Constitutional council.
