Jean Rouaud

Jean Rouaud is a French author born with Campbon (Loire-Inférieure) the December 13rd 1952. Price Goncourt 1990 for the novel Fields of Honor .

Biography

Its control of letters out of pocket, Jean Rouaud exerts various small trades as pump assistant, salesman of medical encyclopedias… In 1978, it enters to Press-Ocean and writes soon papers for the " une" newspaper. It goes up then to Paris; he works sometimes in a bookstore, sometimes as newsvendor in a kiosk. In 1990, it makes appear its first novel, the fields of honor , a stroke master since it obtains at once the Prix Goncourt. Marked by the death of her father the shortly after Christmas whereas it was eleven years old, then by that of her mother in 1996, before even as she could read the lines that it had devoted to him in his last novels, Jean Rouaud ressuscite with the wire of his works this decimated family, using simple words and of filled up winks of mischievousness and tenderness.
