Jean Riesen

Jean Riesen , Swiss politician, born the July 13rd 1920 with La Chaux-de-Fonds, deceased the September 12th 1987 with Bern.

Formation and career

  • He is mechanic of formation.
  • Self-educated, it follows the popular University of its birthplace.

  • In parallel, it collaborates in the Sentinel (daily newspaper).

The great Freibourgese Council

  • It is elected appointed with the Grand the Council Freibourgese of 1966 to 1971 and chairs the socialist member of Parliament group of this assembly.

National council

  • In 1967, it is elected with the National council and there sits during twenty years assuming the presidencies of the agency fees (1973 and 1974) and of finances (1981 and 1982).

To advise Freibourgese State

  • Candidate at the time of a by-election in February 1966, it is beaten little with the general elections of November 1966. He is elected in 1971 with the Council of State where he directs the department of Public works, contributing to the construction of the trunk road A2. He is beaten in 1976 and devotes himself only to his federal mandate.

Europe

  • It sits at the parliamentary Assemblée of the Council of Europe of 1983 to 1987.
