Jean Quinault

Jean Quinault is a Acteur French born with Bourges towards 1656 and died before June 1728. It does not seem to have of family ties with the Dramaturge Philippe Quinault.

Wire of a doctor of Issoudun, it enters the troop of the Dauphin in 1679. With Amiens in 1686, he marries Marie Saintelette, girl of a baker of Verdun, with which he will have several children, of which four will be actors:

  • Jean-Baptist-Maurice (1687 - 1745)
  • Abraham-Alexis (1693 - 1767), known as Quinault-Dufresne
  • Marie-Anne-Christine (1695 - 1791), known as Miss Quinault elder the
  • Jeanne-Francoise (1699 - 1783), known as Miss Quinault junior.

The March 6th 1694, it begins with the Comédie-Française in the role from Harpagon and is received there the following year. It however leaves the Comédie-Française to enter the troop of the duke of Lorraine, with which it plays Strasbourg and Metz, then in the courses of Germany. He still plays Nancy (1699), Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles (1705), Nantes (1718).
