Wire of a doctor of Issoudun, it enters the troop of the Dauphin in 1679. With Amiens in 1686, he marries Marie Saintelette, girl of a baker of Verdun, with which he will have several children, of which four will be actors:
- Jean-Baptist-Maurice (1687 - 1745)
- Abraham-Alexis (1693 - 1767), known as Quinault-Dufresne
- Marie-Anne-Christine (1695 - 1791), known as Miss Quinault elder the
- Jeanne-Francoise (1699 - 1783), known as Miss Quinault junior.
The March 6th 1694, it begins with the Comédie-Française in the role from Harpagon and is received there the following year. It however leaves the Comédie-Française to enter the troop of the duke of Lorraine, with which it plays Strasbourg and Metz, then in the courses of Germany. He still plays Nancy (1699), Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles (1705), Nantes (1718).
