Jean Pronovost
Jean Pronovost (born the December 18th 1945 with Shawinigan with the Quebec) is a former player of Hockey of the National league of hockey. He played under the colors of the Penguins de Pittsburgh, the Flames of Atlanta and the Capitals of Washington.
Biography
Jean is eleventh of the twelve children of his family. The elder one, Marcel, had already marked LNH when Jean fitted his first shoes. Marcel was from time immemorial a god for Jean.Its first colors were those of the Bruins de Victoriaville before he plays in the league junior of Ontario ( Ontario Hockey League ) with the Flyers of Niagara Falls. First trophy for Jean and his team who beat finally Coupe Memorial the Oil Kings d' Edmonton in 1965. Pronovost remains one year more within the team before signing for the formation affiliated to the Bruins of Boston: the Oklahoma City Blazers where it gains the Coupe Adam of the central Ligue of hockey. It remains 2 years in the manpower of the Blazers but Bruins make the error not to make it sign at the conclusion of this period and Jean flies away side of the Penguins de Pittsburgh in 1968.
Under its new colors, its talent becomes obvious and during the ten seasons which will follow, Jean Pronovost will be a pillar of constancy realizing of very good seasons.
During the Season LNH 1975-76, it is aligned with Syl Apps, Jr. and Lowell MacDonald, it then carries out its best season with 52 goals in 80 matches and becomes thus the first member of Penguins to mark 100 points in one season.
In 1978, it is exchanged against Gregg Sheppard Flames of Atlanta where it knows two more very good seasons even if they are not able to rise finally Coupe Stanley. It realizes then that in spite of the undeniable talent within the team, it misses all the same the will to gain.
It spent its two last seasons of hockey of the LNH within the Capitals of Washington, which contrary to its preceding club have the will to gain, but they do not have unfortunately the talent necessary.
It leaves LNH then and will play a few seasons in the American Ligue of hockey or in minor leagues of Quebec. Later, he will become trainer-chief in the Ligue of hockey major junior of Quebec and the American Ligue of hockey.
