Jean Negulesco

Jean Negulesco , of his true name Jean Negulescu, born the February 26th 1900 with Craiova (Romania) and deceased the July 18th 1993 with Marbella (Spain), is an American realizer of Rumanian origin. In 1915, it emigrates with Vienna but returns to Bucharest in 1919 and turns to painting. Then one finds it with Paris as decorator of theater. In 1927 it goes to New York to expose its paintings to it and is established there.

In 1934, it begins as an actor in short-measurings. He becomes thereafter assistant-producer, director of second team and finally scenario writer and director with whole share.

He begins his career of realizer to the the United States in the the Forties at Warner Bros., working with Joan Crawford and John Garfield in Humoresque (1947) or with Jane Wyman in Johnny Belinda (1948), film which obtained twelve nominations with the Oscars, of which that of the best realizer.

In the the Fifties, it carries out films for 20th Century Fox, of which some remain great successes as How to marry a millionaire (How to Marry has Millionaire) and Titanic (1953) like the Fountain of the loves (Three Coins in the Fountain) (1954).
