Biography
Studies
Secondary studies at the Teacher training school of Angouleme then to that of Poitiers. Baccalaureat in philosophy in 1966.Higher learning with the Faculty of Arts and Social sciences of Poitiers, with Training center of the Professors of CEG of Poitiers and at the Institute of Preparation with Professorships of Secondary education of the University of Poitiers.
Teacher
- Control of English in 1970 (Certificate “linguistic history”).
- Professor of English of 1971 to 1989, successively with the colleges of Loudun and Bressuire.
- In parallel, activity of violonist amateur, specialization “Baroque music”.
Musician
In 1982, Jean Maillet becomes Violon ist professional baroque. He is engaged by Philippe Herreweghe (the Royal Vault), William Christie (Flourishing Arts), Jean-Claude Malgoire (the Large Stable and the Room of Roy), etc With these units, J. Mallet records forty discs, takes part in many rounds in the whole world and plays in the greatest international festivals.In 1989, after having carried out face, during 7 years, its careers of teacher and violonist amateur, J. Mallet obtains the Diplôme of State of old music, requests its detachment of State education, becomes professor of Baroque music and founds his own unit, Mensa Sonora, of which it ensures the direction as a first solo violin.
With Mensa Sonora, J. Mallet records, in first world, 10 CD devoted to type-setters baroques “to redécouvrir” (Graupner, Cazzati, Jarzebski, Rosenmüller, etc). Mallet and Mensa Sonora are engaged by many festivals of which “Great Crowned Concerts” of Paris, the Festival of Fall of Paris and Lyric Days of Chartres (direct artistic: Eve Ruggieri), this last service being collected by France 2 and being diffused in Musics in the middle .
As a violonist baroque, Jean Maillet took part in the turning of the dangerous Liaisons of Stephen Frears and in that of Every morning of the world of Alain Corneau.
Writer
Attracted by the writing, J. Mallet published a novel ( Hypnose or a deathly hush ) two collections of news ( Aberrances or adjacent Worlds , price of the news of the city of Mans and the Disciples ) then, in October 2005, the " Dictionary of the proper names become names communs" at Albin Michel in the collection " Dictionaries of Or" with foreword of Bernard Pivot.
Creator of a board game
Interested by a ludic approach of the French language, Jean Maillet invents the board game Étymos , “the lunatic play of the demon of the words”, published in January 2003.Étymos receives at once a gold medal of the Concours Lépine (International fair of the Play and Toy, then, always in 2003, the first price of the Aquitanian Living room of the invention as well as a bronze medal with world of the invention.
Étymos is selected as of September 2003 by the Boutique of the magazine Lire .
Solicited by Stephan Chabenat, Jean Maillet develops one of the five headings of the play Étymos. It is the genesis of the Dico of the proper names become common nouns .
