Jean Letourneau

Jean Letourneau is a French politician born the September 18th 1907 with the Lude (the Sarthe) and deceased with Paris the March 16th 1986.

Biography

He is bachelor of law of the University of Paris. He adheres in 1933 to the popular Democratic party of which he will be, in 1938, member of the management committee. In 1943, it is in clandestinity close to Georges Bidault, president of the National council of Resistance.

In 1944, he is director of the press to the ministry for Information. Member of the management committee of the popular Republican movement as of his creation, it is appointed the Sarthe to Both constituent Assemblées then is elected, the November 10th 1946, is appointed of the Sarthe to the National Assembly or it will sit until in 1956.

After the death of the general Jean de Lattre de Tassigny in January 1952, it cumulates its wallet of minister in charge for the States associated with the station with High-Commissioner in Indo-China.

He was mayor of Chevillé (1953 to 1963) and member of the Parliament of the French Union (1956 to 1958) then devoted himself to the businesses.
