Jean Lemire (genealogy)

Jean Lemire (bapt. June 4th, 1625 - October 5th, 1684) is the ancestor of the majority of Lemire still living in Canada. Born in the Saint-Vivien parish from Rouen (Normandy, France), he emigrates between 1650 and 1653 in News-France and acquires a small holding of Cape-Red following his marriage with Louise Marsolet on July 20th, 1653.

Master-carpenter of trade, one orders to him in 1684 a bell-tower of oak for the southern tower of the cathedral of Quebec.
