Jean Laporte is a naval Engineer .
He was born in the Gironde in 1859, resulting from a family of carpenter. In 1874, it enters to the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of arts and trades of Angers, of which it is graduate in 1877. In 1880, he becomes engineer in naval construction after a passage to the school Centrale of Arts and Manufactures of Paris.
Then, he works for the important structure of Claparède naval construction located at Saint-Denis. He is sent to the Petit-Quevilly, with the Chantiers Claparède. Aprsè the failure of this building site in 1886, it turns over to Saint-Denis and Paris on behalf of the Chantiers of the Loire.
In 1891, it arrives on the sites Nantes of these shipyards.
In 1893, it turns over close to Rouen. At the end of four years, this new building site installed with the Grand-Quevilly is a new failure.
Thereafter, it leaves to Port-de-Bouc, Rhone delta.
After its withdrawal of the businesses in 1925, it sets out again in Normandy to pass its retirement.
It becomes Maire of Duclair where it will die in 1933.
