Jean Laplanche

Jean Laplanche (1924) is a Philosophe and Psychanalyste French.

Biographical reference marks

Jean Laplanche between with the National university in 1944. It is formed there by Jean Hyppolite, Gaston Bachelard or Maurice Merleau-Ponty. During the year 1946-1947, he studies at the University of Harvard, period during which he meets Rudolph Loewenstein. In 1950, it obtains the aggregation of philosophy, and begins a psychoanalytical cure with Jacques Lacan. He then undertakes a medical formation like precondition to the analytical formation. From 1962, Laplanche teaches in the Sorbonne with the invitation of Daniel Lagache. In 1967, it publishes with Jean-Bertrand Pontalis, under the direction of Daniel Lagache, the Vocabulary of the psychoanalysis, translated in about fifteen languages. To the university Presses of France, Laplanche directs the Library of Psychoanalysis (1973), new the Voix collection psychoanalyzes some (1979) which gathers the first work of researchers of university origin, and the Psychanalyse review at the University (1975-1994). Jean Laplanche is professor Honoris Causa of the University of Lausanne (1986), knight of Arts and Lettres (1990), prize winner of Mary S. Sigourney Award (1995).
