Jean Jouzel

Jean Jouzel , born in 1947, is a French climatologist and glaciologist, research director with ECA at the Institute Pierre Simon Laplace.

He is recognized universally for his analyzes of the ice of the the Antarctic and the Greenland making it possible to know the last terrestrial climate (Paléoclimat). He is in addition vice-president of GIEC.

In 2002, CNRS decrees the gold medal to him, with Claude Lorius. In 2007, it divides with Al Gore and the other scientists members of GIEC the Nobel Prize of Peace.
