Jean Jay

Jean Jay (born the Holy-Foy-the-Large December 30th 1743 with , the Gironde - died the September 9th 1807 with Nougarède) was a Pasteur Calviniste French which made a short political career for the period of the Révolution.

Under the Revolution

Pasteur calvinist, administrator of the the Gironde in 1791, Jean Jay is elected appointed with the legislative Assemblée by the department of the Gironde, (1791) re-elected appointed with the Convention (1792). He sits at the sides of the Montagnards and shows himself very hostile the other elected officials of the department, of tendency of Gironde. He votes the death of the king at the time of the Procès of Louis XVI, seat one month with the Comité of general security and intervenes especially with the Comité of state education, supporting the paternal authority against that of the State. Prudently quiet under the Convention thermidorienne.

Jean Jay is not re-elected with the councils by the Gironde and finishes his existence like Pasteur.
