Jean Jacques Anatole Bouquet of Grye

Jean Jacques Anatole Bouquet of Grye , born with Thiers the May 29th 1827 and died in Paris the December 22nd 1909, is a Engineer Hydrographe French.

He is known to be at the origin of the Port authority of the La Rochelle in Charente-Maritime, classified 8th French port commercial in 2007. After a study of bay of the La Rochelle, in 1876, it proposes to install the new port with the locality “the Pond in Besse” in the west of the city, currently Pallice. Its proposal is approved on July 5th, 1879 and the law authorizing the creation of the port is promulgated on April 2nd, 1880. The port of Pallice is inaugurated on August 19th, 1890.

In 1884, it is elected member of the Academy of Science, of which he is president in 1902
