Jean Ier de Dreux

Jean Ier of Dreux , born in 1215, died in 1249 with Nicosie, count de Dreux and of Braine, wire of Robert III, count de Dreux and of Braine, and Aénor de Saint-Valéry.

Armed knight by Saint-Louis, it followed this last during several wars, initially against the English to Poitou (of Taillebourg in 1242 battles), then during the Seventh crusade in 1249. He died at the time of a stopover with Cyprus.

He had married in 1240 Marie (1220 † 1274), girl of Archambaud VIII lord of Bourbon and Beatrice of Montlucon, and had:

* Robert IV (1241 † 1282), count de Dreux, of Braine and Montfort
* Yolande (1243 † ap.1304), married in first weddings with Amaury II († 1269), lord of Craon, then in Jean de Trie († 1304), count de Dammartin
* Jean (1245 † ap.1275), templier
