Jean Restout , known as Jean Ier Restout or Jean Restout the old man , born with Caen the November 15th 1666 and died in Rouen the October 20th 1702, is a painter French.

Raise of his/her father Marguerin Restout, Jean Ier belongs to the famous family of the painters Restout. He had married Magdeleine Jouvenet, sister of Jean Jouvenet.

Its manner resembled so much that of his/her brother-in-law that many its tables were allotted to this last.

Died young person, Jean Ier Restout is the father of most famous painters of the dynasty of Restout, Jean II Restout.
