Jean Ferrère, first of the name, known as Jean I Ferrère , is a sculptor of the 17th century having carried out furniture famous baroque in church of the Hautes-Pyrénées. Asté saw to be established its workshop there. It is at the origin of two additional generations sculptors. His/her son Marc is, quite naturally, the first to be succeeded to him. But, it will be also the case of its grandsons Jean II Ferrère, second of the name, and Dominique. This last, will be intallera however on Tarbes, his/her brother remaining with Asté. The workshops will function until the beginning of the 19th century.

  • the House of Ferrère and the Pyrenean Baroque , installed in the center of Asté opposite the church, recalls the history of Ferrère and, more generally, that of art local Baroque.
