Jean IV of the Brabant

Jean of Burgundy , born with Arras the June 11th 1403, died in Brussels the April 17th 1427, duke of the Brabant (Jean IV) and of Limbourg (Jean IV) (1415-1427), count de Hainaut (Jean II), of Holland and Zealand (1418-1427), wire of Antoine of Burgundy, duke of the Brabant and Limbourg, and Jeanne of Luxembourg, countess of Saint-pol. and Ligny.
Still child with died of his father, weak nature, fragile health, it let himself control by his entourage. Whereas it was yet only fourteen years old, one made him marry the April 10th 1418 Jacqueline of Bavaria (1401 † 1436), countess of Hainaut, Holland and Zealand. This one tried to supplant and eliminate the advisers from her husband, but, tired of these ceaseless fights, she flees with Calais and took refuge in England, where she worked to make break her marriage with the reason for consanguinity (they were first cousins). Martin V pronounced cancellation in 1422, Jacqueline remaria with Humphrey de Gloucester, and the war started between his/her two husbands. Helped by Philippe the Good, duke of Burgundy, it made the conquest of Hainaut, Holland and Zealand, which will return then to Burgundy.
He died a little later without child, and his/her brother Philippe of Saint-pol. succeeded to him.
