Jean II of Anjou or Jean of Calabria , born with Nancy in 1425, died in Barcelona in December 1470, duke of Lorraine Calabria (1435), of (1452) and of Gérone (1466) and marquis de Pont-à-Mousson.
Biography
Jean is the first wire of Rene Ier of Anjou, king de Naples, duke of Anjou, of Bar and Lorraine, count de Provence, and of Isabelle, duchess of Lorraine.In 1435, his/her father reaches the throne of Naples. Jean receives at this time the title of duke of Calabria reserved to the heirs to the Neapolitan crown. He was high in the bosom of the knighthood, in the middle of the tournaments where quickly he excels. As of 1444, his/her father entrusts to him the government of the duchy of Lorraine. At this same period, he inherits his Louis brother the title of marquis de Pont-à-Mousson , which is that of the heir to the duchy of Bar. When the hostilities began again between France and England, it fought with other princes in Normandy 1449; it took part in the seats of Rouen, of Harfleur, Caen (1450), of Falaise and Cherbourg.
In 1453, died of his/her mother, it succeeds to him the Duché of Lorraine, but continuous to assist his/her father in his Italian ambitions. It then fought in Lombardy in 1453 where his/her father had gone to help his ally François Sforza, attacked by the Vénitiens and the king d' Aragon. In 1459, the king of France appointed it governor of Genoa, which had then been placed under the protectorate of France, but as of its arrival, it had to repress revolts.
Alphonse V of Aragon, which had seized the Royaume of Naples to the costs of Rene of Anjou, died shortly after and part of the Neapolitan aristocracy calls upon Jean of Calabria. In spite of some successes vis-a-vis the king Ferdinand, wire of Alphonse V, Jean of Calabria must leave Italy definitively.
The Catalonia being revolted in 1466 against new king d' Aragon, Jean II, his inhabitants offered the crown to Rene, who went down from kings d' Aragon by his mother Yolande. Jean, secured by the title of duke of Gérone reserved to the heirs to the Couronne to Aragon then conducted campaign for his father in Catalonia. This countryside are completed with the death of the duke in Barcelona the December 6th 1470.

He married in 1444 Marie de Bourbon (1428 † 1448), wire of Charles Ier, duke of Bourbon and Agnes of Burgundy, and had:
