Jean III of Armagnac
Jean III , born towards the 1359 dead July 25th 1391, was count ''' of Armagnac ''', of Fézensac and of Rodez of 1384 with 1391. It was wire of Jean II Uneven the, count d' Armagnac, of Fézensac and Rodez, and Jeanne of Périgord.
The May 14th 1378, Jean III married Marguerite (1363 † 1443), countess of Comminges (1363-1443). They had two girls:
- Jeanne, married in 1409 with Guillaume-Amanieu de Madaillan (1375 † 1414), lord of Lesparre, Blasimont, Rauzan, Pujols, Blazimont and Cancon
- Marguerite, married on November 30th, 1415 with Guillaume II killed with the Battle of Verneuil, on August 14th, 1424), Viscount of Narbonne (1397-1424)
In 1390, it claimed with the kingdom of Majorque, but was overcome by the troops of Jean Ier, king of Aragon, at the time of a battle delivered close to Navata. Jean III consequently led military actions in the Roussillon. In 1391, it had to leave for the Italy in order to come to assistance of Charles Visconti, lord of Parma and husband of his sister, Beatrix of Armagnac, which was in conflict with his/her cousin Galeazzo Visconti, duke of Milan. It succeeds in attracting with the participation in the steps the Grandes companies and by this fact the safety of the population increased living in southernmost France. He perishes in Alessandria, in Lombardy.
