Resulting from a formation of modelling and drawing at the School of the place from the Vosges in Paris, it obtains, in 1983, a grant sculpture granted by the Ministry for the culture and SOWED it and leaves in formation in the sculptors Rene Coutelle and Michel Pigeon. One decrees to him in 1981 the 1st price of Modelling by the town of Levallois, in 1983 the price “Maestro of Arte” with Veronne in Italy, in 1996 the Biennale public price of Contemporary art of French-speaking Countries, in 1993 the price of the scenario of the Festival of film of Art of UNESCO. He becomes Lauréat, in 1998, of the Grand Prix of Trades of Arts of the town of Paris. Trégastel, in dimension of Armor, orders an animalist monumental granite sculpture to him. It carves a monumental tortoise for the town of Evreux, a fountain out of granite for Lyon and of many other orders and acquisitions for the town of Paris, in Italy and in USA.Il takes part in many collective exposures, in Veronne (Italy), in Paris, Grenoble, in Finistere, in Melun, in the USA. The universe created by Jean Garleita takes as a starting point the organic, vegetable and human world. It is expressed through the mineral matters in all their diversities and richnesses, granite, marble and stones are carved in the tradition of an ancestral filiation, that of a know-how acquired by the study of old without neglecting the contribution of new technologies. Between personal creations and work of restorations on the historic buildings, for 25 years it has reconciled these two activities.
