Jean Gandois

Jean Gandois , born the May 7th 1930 with Nieul, is a personality of the business world French.

Former student of the Polytechnic school of promotion 1949, he becomes engineer of the Bridges & Chaussées. Of 1954 with 1960 it is engaged by Public works of Guinea as an expert for the road programs of the Brésil and the Peru. In 1961 it returns in the group Wendel and after various functions, in 1972 managing director of Sacilor becomes, then chairman and managing director of Sollac. In 1976 it enters to Rhône-Poulenc to become its managing director about it then chairman and managing director. It leaves the group in 1982 and carries on until in 1986 the activity of international consultant. In 1986 it becomes chairman and managing director of Pechiney, group which it leaves in 1994 to assume the chairmanship of the National council of French employers (CNPF, ancestor of the MEDEF). Feeling betrayed by the Socialist government after the vote of the law of adoption of the 35 hours, he resigns of this station with crash in 1997. Of 1987 with 1999 it exerts simultaneously the president's functions of Cockerill Sambre. He is currently president of the board of trustees of Suez.
