Jean François Albert Of Pouget de Nadaillac

Jean-François-Albert of Pouget, marquis de Nadaillac (July 16th 1818, London (England) - October 1st 1904, castle of Rougemont, Cloyes-on-the-Dormouse, Eure-et-Loir) is an administrator, paleontologist and anthropologist French.

He was prefect the Low-Pyrenees of 1871 to 1876, of Indre-et-Loire in 1877, then devoted himself to paleontological and anthropological research, being interested as well in the prehistoric populations of America as to the caves decorated with the south of France.

Deeply catholic, it was interested in the relationship between science and the faith.

Correspondent of the Institute (Academy of the inscriptions and the humanities). Knight of the Legion of honor.

The majority of its publications appeared initially in the Journal of the Institute or in the Revue scientific Questions of Leuwen and Brussels.
