Jean Fountain (missionary of Africa)

Jean Fountain , born the December 2nd 1936 in France, is a white father which wrote a series of works on the Arab Littérature and Tunisian in particular.

In 1953, it obtains a baccalaureat in Mathématiques. The September 15th 1955, it leaves in Algérie like noviciate in the white Fathers. Of 1956 with 1957, it follows its first year of Théologie to Thibar (Tunisia) before becoming teacher in Algeria of 1958 with 1959. It follows then three years of course of theology to Carthage and two years of studies of Arab to Manouba (Tunisia) of 1962 to 1964.

From 1964 with 1965, it carries out the last years of its Arabic course at the pontifical Institute of Arab studies of Rome. In 1968, it obtains a license of Arabic to the Université of Tunis. Lastly, it obtains a Doctorat State with the Université of Aix-en-Provence in 1977.
