Jean Durieux

Jean Durieux is a French politician born the February 7th 1934 with Laghouat (Algérie) and died the February 17th 1989 with the Street-of-Vines (Northern).

Biography

He is appointed (giscardien) North of 1968 with 1978, year when he is beaten by the Communist Claude Wargnies. There remains general adviser until his death.

In the middle of the Years 1980, it leaves the UDF and adheres to the National front, following the example Bruno Chauvierre, François Bachelot, Michel de Rostolan, Guy Jaouen and other notable. It is present on list FN in the department of North at the time of the legislative elections of March 1986 but not in rather good place to be elected. On the other hand, it carries out the list of extreme right-hand side for the regional elections, which obtains 11,84% of the votes cast. Jean Durieux becomes president of group FN at the district council of the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

He resigns of the National front on March 10th, 1988 to protest against the “ toughening ” of this party ( Le Monde , March 12th, 1988), and joined his political family of origin, UDF, but dies less than one year later.
