Jean Dauberval
Jean Bercher, known as Dauberval (or of Auberval) was born with Montpellier the August 19th 1742 and died in Tours the February 14th 1806.
Ballet master Dancer and French, it studies at the school of ballet of the Opera of Paris, where it is appointed First dancer in 1763 and ballet master in 1771. It leaves the Opera in 1783 and goes to Bordeaux, where he becomes ballet master of the Grand Theater of 1785 with 1791. He is in particular the author of the famous ballet the badly kept Girl , created with Bordeaux in 1789.
Very influenced by Noverre and its theories on the Ballet of action, its ballets tell the life of ordinary people and often depict sentimental situations with humor. Its principal disciples will be Salvatore Viganò, Charles-Louis Didelot and Jean-Pierre Aumer.
He had married the dancer Marie-madeleine Crespé, said M {{the}} Theodore.
