Jean Coutrot

Jean Coutrot (1895 - May 19th 1941) is a Engineer French, pioneer of the Organization of the work.

Jean Coutrot between with the Polytechnic school in 1913. It is seriously wounded in front of Craonne in September 1915 (amputation of the right leg). To leaving the First war, married with Annette Gaut, it enters the paper mill Gaut and Blancan. Cantor of the Rationalization of the economy, it takes part in the activities of the National committee of the French organization and the general Commission of scientific oganisation of work.

He is one of the pioneers of the Groupe X-Crisis born with the autumn 1931 and transformed into 1933 in Center polytechnician of economic studies. He works with the new Order of Georges Valois, and militates for the " Civil service ". He publishes in 1935 what to live , directs the Entretiens with Pontigny and creates with Aldous Huxley and Alexis Carrel the Center of studies of the human problems. Coutrot enters then to the cabinet of Charles Spinasse, Minister for the economy Nation ale of the Popular front and is seen entrusting the vice-presidency of the " scientific Steering Committee of work ". In 1937, it is one of the cofounders of the review the Nouveaux books which considered a Franco-German economic collaboration.

Its offers of service are refused with the autumn 1940 by the Régime of Vichy, and it is inserted in a depression which leads it to the suicide on May 19th, 1941. Its name was mixed with the alleged plot with the " Synarchy ".
