Jean Claverie

Born with Beaune (Coast-D' Gold) in 1946, Jean Claverie made his studies with the National school of the Art schools of Lyon, then at the School of decorative Arts of Geneva (Suisse).

He initially worked as an illustrator of publicity, then starting from 1977 specialized in the field of the book for youth. It illustrated, inter alia authors, Oscar Wilde, Charles Perrault, Ludwig Bechstein, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Michel Tournier, Paul Auster. It carried out about fifty albums, many covers of books and institutional posters.

Part of its time is devoted to teaching, the National school of the Art schools of Lyon and to the École Emile Cohl.

He lives close to Lyon with his wife, Michelle Nikly, which also works for the edition youth. They have two children, Louis and Francois, respectively born in 1977 and 1982.
