Jean Charles Maurice Grémion , born with Saint-Maur-of-Ditches (the Seine) on September 19th, 1817, deceased with Soissons on December 26th, 1883, in its 67e year.
In retirement, commander brigadier general of the Legion of honor.
Entered with Saint-Cyr military school in 1837; left Second lieutenant in 1839, he traversed all the ranks quickly. He was Colonel in 1868; he was made general on October 19th, 1870.
He had made the campaigns of the Crimea and Italy, then he belonged to the army of Metz in 1870 and that of Paris in 1871.
