Jean Chacornac
Jean Chacornac is a Astronome French, born the June 21st 1823 with Lyon and dead the September 23rd 1873 with Villeurbanne.
He studies with the Observatoire of Marseilles where he becomes the assistant of Benjamin Valz before being astronomer-assistant with the Observatoire of Paris. He is the author of a ecliptic Atlas in 1856. He discovers six Astéroïde S, a Comet and studies the sunspots.
The asteroid (1622) Chacornac and the Chacornac crater on the the Moon were baptized thus to pay homage to him.
