Jean Bommart

Jean Bommart is a French writer born on September 12th, 1894 with Douai and died in Paris on December 25th, 1979.

Seriously wounded during the Great War in 1916, it becomes bank clerk then journalist.

Nailed at the bed during three years following a food poisoning, it starts to write while taking as a starting point its memories of action in the secret war.

He is very quickly success with his character of the Sauvin captain, alias the Chinese Poisson. Hero relaxed but with the ungrateful physique, it is not a ladykiller of beautiful spies but an astute, skilful secret agent to disguise itself. Timeless, it emerges on all the theaters of operations during several decades to the liking of the world disorders. One as well finds it penetrating in the bunker of Hitler to the fall of Berlin at the beginning of May 1945 or revealing the first the arrival of the Soviet missiles with Cuba in 1963…

Jean Bommart also wrote traditional detective novels, two science fiction novels (under the pseudonym of Kemmel) and various other works. It was interested in the cinema as scenario writer or dialogist.
