Jean Besson is a Politician French, born on July 1st 1948 with Valréas (Vaucluse), he is married and father of three children.

Career

Civil servant of the Post office (1966 - 1985), general agent of insurances (1985 - 1991), Jean Besson is member since 1966 of CFDT (democratic French Confédération of work), permanent person in charge of a departmental trade union of 1973 with 1977, member with SFIO (1968) then with new the Socialist party (1971).

Jean Besson is elected Senator of Drome on September 24th 1989, re-elected on September 27th 1998, member of the National council of tourism since 1995, rapporteur of the budget of energy (1995 - 2002), President of the interparliamentary group France- China since 1998.

President d' Énergie SDED and Defect President of the FNCCR (National federation of the Communities Concédentes and Régies) since 1991. Administrator of Gaz de France (1999 - 2004).

Vice-president of the district council the Rhone-Alps since March 2004, delegated to the European businesses and the international relations.

Trade unionist CFDT and self-management Socialist in 1968, Jean Besson declares dice 1979, Social-démocrate and European Fédéraliste, (Congrès of Metz of the PS), it is located today at the Center-left, and close to Dominique Strauss-Kahn.
