Jean Bertrand Féraud

Jean Bertrand Féraud , born with Arreau (Hautes-Pyrénées), the August 3rd 1759, massacred with Paris, the May 20th 1795.

Lawyer, member of the national guard of Arreau to his creation, Jean Bertrand Féraud is elected appointed Convention by the department of the Hautes-Pyrénées. He there claims the capital punishment for the tradesmen in possessive grains, vote for the death of the king, but attacks Jean-Paul Marat, it showing to preach the fire, plundering, the murder and anarchy.

Envoy in May 1793 with the Armed with the Pyrenees (Western), it thus escapes the Proscription which strikes his/her friends of Gironde. Attacked on its return for its vote against Jean-Paul Marat and his bonds with the Gironde, it is justified by evoking its action with the armies.

Thermidor 9 year II (July 27th 1794), it joint with the adversaries of Maximilien de Robespierre and invades with Paul Barras and of the sure troops the Town hall where the quarter of terrorists had taken refuge. One then sees it dealing with the reorganization of the Committees of public hello and general security, then with the Armée with North where he testifies to the same courage, of the same temerity as on the the Pyrenees. His/her colleague Antoine Merlin of Thionville known as of him that it was " the most insane colleague whom one can dream ".

Responsible for the provisioning of Paris at the beginning of May 1795, he testifies to his " madness " while being opposed to the crowd which invades Convention at the time of the Insurrection of 1st meadow year III and is massacred.

There François-Antoine de Boissy d' Anglas, president of Convention, is illustrated this day by greeting the head of Jean Bertrand Féraud that one presents to him at the end of a spade. Convention returned in Ferraud the funeral honors.
