Jean Baylac

Jean Baylac is a French politician, born on August 9th, 1898 with Belveze-of-Razes (Aude), died on May 22nd, 1961.

Raise college of Marmande, it ceases its work of engineer electician during the First World War, when it is sent to the face.

After the war, he is federal president, and chair local (Lot-et-Garonne) popular Democratic party. Candidate with legislative of 1936, it is city council man of Marmande of 1935 to 1940.

In 1939, it goes voluntary. It animates then a network of local resistance to Marmande. His/her son was killed at the time of an action of resistance. He will be decorated with the Military Cross.

In 1944, it joined the popular Republican movement, left Gaulliste. He is second of list to the legislative elections of June and November 1946, then candidate with senatorial of 1946, and legislative of 1951. He is also assistant of the mayor of Marmande (until its death).

In 1954, it joined UDCA Pierre Poujade. Appointed elected official of the Lot-et-Garonne in 1956, it votes against the nomination of Guy Mollet and refuses the special capacities in Algeria to him, but its election is invalidated in April.

He dies in May 1961.
