Jean Bassange
French painter of the Academy of Saint-Luc, credit with Paris in the middle of the XVII° century. This painter with maintaining with his credit a work! Until now, it was only one name, in 1915 Jules Guiffey, quoted it for the first time, as painter of the Académie of Saint-Luc.
This work a Worship of the Shepherds , oil on signed fabric 1,475 by 1,275, was found by Eric Blanchegorge, conservative of the museum Vivenel, Compiegne, in a municipal building of the city. Guillaume Kazerouni revealed the little which one knows of this artist thanks to several documents of files spread out of 1628 to 1654.
The Adoration of the Shepherds , which integrated the collections of the Vivenel museum, takes as a starting point a work of Simon Vouet, diffused by the engraving of Fançois Perrier.
