Jean Béraud , born with Saint-Pétersbourg the January 12th 1849 and died in Paris the October 4th 1935, is a French painter. Painter of kind known as “fireman”, author of sights of Paris treated on a very realistic mode, it does not belong to the group of the impressionist .

Biography

After studies with the College Condorcet, he becomes pupil of Leon Bonnat and takes part in the Living room for the first time in 1872. But he is success only in 1876, thanks to his table the Return of the burial . In 1887, it is named chevalier of the Legion of Honor, then it is promoted officer of the Légion of honor in 1894.

It was one of the witnesses of Marcel Proust at the time of sound duel, with Meudon, with Jean Lorrain.
