Jean Bérain father

Jean Bérain father is a painter, Aquarelliste, Dessinateur, engraver, ornemanist and Décorateur of Théâtre French born with Saint-Mihiel the June 4th 1640 and died with Paris the January 24th 1711.

After having studied with Charles Le Brun, it is sharpened at the court of Louis XIV as of 1674 like draftsman of the Room and the Cabinet of the King . Little by little, it makes the costumes for the plays and operas represented at the court, and becomes the official decorator of the royal Académie of music in 1680, succeeding Carlo Vigarani.

His/her son, Jean Bérain, will continue his work.
