Jean Béliveau

Jean Arthur Béliveau O.C (August 31st 1931 with Three-Rivers with the Canada) is a former player of Hockey Québécois. It gained the Coupe Stanley with ten recoveries, of which a record number of five times as captain of the Canadian of Montreal.
Biography
Jean Béliveau begins his career in 1946 with the Panthers de Victoriaville. He plays then for the Tigers, the As of Quebec and finally the Citadelles of the Ligue of hockey major junior of Quebec. He begins his professional path at the Canadian of Montreal in 1951 where he obtains a place of holder during the Saison LNH 1953-54 by taking part in 44 parts and marking 34 points.With his imposing stature like his elegance and his robustness, Jean Béliveau, called “Large Bill”, is regarded as a model by the rising generation hockeyeurs of the National league of hockey (LNH). The Saison LNH 1954-55 strengthens its statute of high-speed motorboat with Montreal whereas it finishes third marker of the league and is named in the team of the Match of the Stars of the league.
The following year, Béliveau finishes better marker and gains the Trophée Binder and the Trophée Art Ross. To conclude in beauty, Béliveau gains the first from its ten Coupe Stanley. It continues its rise in the LNH, beating its personal record of points of 1958-59 by gaining another championship of the markers of the league. It is named captain of its team in 1961-62 and will continue to gain several distinctions and Stanley cuts.
In 1968, he becomes the second player of the history of the LNH, after Gordie Howe, to reach the 1000 points in career. Three years afterwards, he is the fourth player to cross the symbolic mark of the 500 goals.
Béliveau is withdrawn in 1971 by gaining its tenth Stanley Cut. Without waiting three years the usual period for an admission with the Temple of re-elected hockey, he is established in 1972.
At the time of its retirement, it held the record of its team for the points in career and was the best marker in series in the LNH. It will have marked 507 goals and 712 master keys for 1219 points in 1125 parts of regular season and 70 goals and 97 assistances for 176 points in 162 parts of series. Its number (4) was withdrawn on October 9th, 1971 by the Canadians of Montreal.
It continues its association with the organization montréalaise in a more administrative role. With its retirement in 1994, one offers to him the station of General governor of Canada, which it declines. He becomes ambassador for the Canadians of Montreal.
