Jean-Yves Cozan
Jean-Yves Cozan , sociologist, journalist, politician (born the May 16th 1939, Brest)
He is director of the weekly magazine the Progress of Cornwall (1962 -69) before entering to the cabinet of André Colin, former minister, general adviser of Ushant and president of the Board of director of Finistere (1969 -78) in the capacity as general secretary of the CODAFF, committee of expansion of Finistere. Initially registered with the Center of the social democrats (CDS), it continues its political career like member of the UDF and member of the Club Idea-Action of Alain Madelin, while concluding from the agreements with the PS. Thus, in 1998, it was maintained to the second turn senatorial elections where three socialist candidates are elected and outgoing a RPR re-elected. In 1998, it carries out a list “Independent of Brittany” nonaffiliated to a party but which belongs to the majority from the right.
He is elected assistant of the mayor of Quimper (1977 -89), general adviser of the Canton of Ushant (since the death of Andre Colin in 1978), regional adviser of Brittany of 1986 to 1988, and of 1998 to 2004, finally appointed again Finistere of 1986 to 1997.
In parallel, it was, starting from 1983, president of the Regional natural park of Armorique and six companies of mixed economy. Moreover, he was president of Finist' air. There remains administrator of SEM of installation of Finistere. It is indicated “Breton year 1991” by Armor Magazine .
At the National Assembly, it sat at the Commission of defense and chaired actively the group of friendship France-China.
With the District council of Brittany, from which he was vice-president until 2004, he dealt with the promotion of the Breton identity and the culture.
