Jean-Pierre Thomin , Breton politician.
Mayor of Landerneau since 1989, it is one of the principal influential members of the PS favorable to the Breton Langue joined together within BREIS. In June 2002, in spite of the defeat of the Socialist party to the presidential election, he is candidate of the PS to legislative vis-a-vis the general adviser UMP de Plouescat Jacques Le Guen. Beaten as of the first turn, it obtains nevertheless its higher score for a first turn with legislative with 30,94% of the votes.
In 2006, the socialist federation having held the 5th district from the point of view of the legislative elections of 2007 with a woman, he is not candidate. On the other hand, he becomes president of the support group to the candidate Chantal GUITTET.

Jean-Pierre Thomin is one of the founders of Celtic festival Kann-Al-Loar of Landerneau.
In 2005, it is excluded from the Socialist party for office plurality of the mandates from mayor and regional adviser, not complying with the rules imposed by the finistérienne federation of the PS.
