Jean-Pierre Thomin , Breton politician.
Mayor of Landerneau since 1989, it is one of the principal influential members of the PS favorable to the Breton Langue joined together within BREIS. Biography
Municipal elections
City council man opposition since 1983, he becomes the mayor of Landerneau in 1989 with the chief candidate of union of the left, and that 24 years after the Socialist Jean-Louis Roland.In June 1995, Jean-Pierre THOMIN is consolidated in his seat of mayor while collecting as of the first turn 51,35% of the votes around his list vis-a-vis the line list carried out by Emmanuel CUIEC.
In March 2001, it is renewed, at the conclusion of a second turn in the form of quadrangular, with the head of the municipality of Landerneau, vis-a-vis a plain line and in spite of a divided left.
In November 2007, he announces his candidature for a fourth mandate for the post of first magistrate.
Cantonal elections
Elected official general adviser of Finistere in July 1987, following the death of the general adviser, it is re-elected the following year. In March 1994, obtaining 47,31% of the votes to the second turn on the canton, it loses its seat of general adviser vis-a-vis RPR Emmanuel CUIEC.
Regional elections
Present on the list of left to the regional elections of 1992, it enters to the District council of Brittany in July 1997, succeeding Marylise Lebranchu.With the poll of March 1998, it is renewed at the District council.
In 2004, he is again candidate with the regional elections on the list carried out by Jean-Yves Le Drian. This list obtaining the majority of the votes at the regional level, Jean-Pierre THOMIN remains regional adviser and between with the executive of the Area while becoming President of the commission culture inheritance and sports of the District council, delegated to the linguistic policy.
Legislative elections
In May 1997, he arrives, for the first time after two attempts in 1988 and 1993, to put the outgoing deputy Charles MIOSSEC in ballotage.
In June 2002, in spite of the defeat of the Socialist party to the presidential election, he is candidate of the PS to legislative vis-a-vis the general adviser UMP de Plouescat Jacques Le Guen. Beaten as of the first turn, it obtains nevertheless its higher score for a first turn with legislative with 30,94% of the votes.
In 2006, the socialist federation having held the 5th district from the point of view of the legislative elections of 2007 with a woman, he is not candidate. On the other hand, he becomes president of the support group to the candidate Chantal GUITTET.
Other striking facts
Jean-Pierre Thomin is one of the founders of Celtic festival Kann-Al-Loar of Landerneau.
In 2005, it is excluded from the Socialist party for office plurality of the mandates from mayor and regional adviser, not complying with the rules imposed by the finistérienne federation of the PS. Having called upon the national level, this decision was cancelled by the National Commission of the Conflicts " waited until the specific measures at the departmental federation of Finistere exceeded the provisions of the circular main road 1323 of July 17th, 2003 and that only this circular could appliquer".
