Jean-Pierre Rioux

Jean-Pierre Rioux is a Historien French, born on February 15th 1939 with Clichy (the Seine), specialist in the contemporary French history, in particular the political, cultural and social history.

Course

Jean-Pierre Rioux is aggregate of history in 1964, then professor with the Marceau colleges of Chartres and Pasteur of Neuilly-sur-Seine between 1964 and 1972.

Part-time lecturer, assistant then lecturer of modern history to the University of Paris X Nanterre between 1970 and 1980. Lecturer, part-time lecturer then directing of seminar to the Institute of political studies of Paris since 1978. Responsible for research then research director to the Institute of history of time present (CNRS), between 1980 and 1991.

General inspector of State education (1991-2003) and Professor associated with New York University, 1990 and 1995.

To advise direction and member of the editorial board of the History , 1978-1998. Cofounder and editor association of Twentieth Century. Review of history since 1984. To advise scientific Our history , 1999-2001. Member of the editorial boards of Spirit (1977-1982) and of the Social movement .

Producer and chronicler with France Culture, 1985-1990. Chronicler with the World (1987-1996) and with the Cross since 2000.
