Jean-Pierre Lorit is a Acteur French.

After having followed the teaching of the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of Arts and Techniques of the Theater, Jean-Pierre Lorit enters to the Higher National Academy of Dramatic art. It also carries out a more specific work of workshop with Blanche Salting, Camille de Close and Julie Vilment. It follows the courses of famous professionals thus. It is besides its former professor, Brigitte Jaques, which will enable him to make its beginnings on the boards, in a part of Marivaux: the Surprise of the love, in 1983. At the same time, the actor starts to turn of the telefilms. The first of them is Fabien of Drome (1983).

It is into 1986 that Jean-Pierre Lorit makes his beginnings in the cinema world, with a role in Jake Speed of Andrew Lane. It does not give up however its theatrical career, nor its work on films of television.

From 1983 to 1997, Jean-Pierre Lorit plays thus in fourteen plays. He works much on the traditional repertory, and plays of works of Marivaux, Musset, Molière or Corneille, but diversifies while playing of the more contemporary parts, like the children of the paradise of Jacques Prévert, put in scene by Marcel Maréchal, or Tango of Mrozek.

In same time, it continues to play in films for television, and occurs more and more in cinematographic works. One thus sees it working with realizers of foreground, such Krzysztof Kieslowski, in the third shutter of the trilogy, Three Colors: Red, Claude Sautet for Nelly and Mr Arnaud, or Andre Techine, for Alice and Martin (it holds to with it the role of the brother of Mathieu Amalric). It also takes part in some short films.

It is nominated with the Césars 2001 for a business of taste of Bernard Rapp and with the Molières 2006 for the Creditors of Strindberg.
