Jean-Pierre Lacombe-Saint-Michel

Jean-Pierre Lacombe-Saint-Michel, born with Saint-Michel-of-VAX (Tarn), on March 5th 1751 and dead on January 27th 1812, is a general of the French revolution. He appears as a character in the work of the novelist Claude Simon.
Under the Revolution
Raise artillerist in 1765, Jean-Pierre Lacombe-Saint-Michel is captain in 1789.
Member of the directory of the department of the Tarn, it is elected with the legislative Assemblée by this department and that of the Northern , chooses the first. Member of the military committee of the Parliament, it is re-elected appointed with the Convention. Envoy in Savoy, at this time Frenchwoman, to make carry out the decree of dismissal of the general of Montesquiou-Fézensac, it votes on his return the death of the king.
One then sends it in Corsica, where it unloads on April 6th 1793 and manages to overcome Pascal Paoli with Farinole. Wounded in the battle, it is made brigadier general, on November 17th, 1793, two days after the victory. It is in mission with the Armée with North at the time of the fall of Robespierre, and writes on Thermidor 13 year II (July 31st, 1793), with the Comité of public hello: “It is by tackling the infamous coalition that I will seek the accomplices of Robespierre”. On its return, in February 1794, it enters to the Committee of public hello.
Under the Directory
The Tarn elects it with the Conseil of Old the, just as North and the Orne. It supports the Directoire and the Coup d'etat of the 18 fructidor year V (September 4th 1797). Major general at his exit of the Council, in 1798, Jean-Pierre Lacombe-Saint-Michel is sent to Naples but holds of the remarks if not very diplomatic and so republicans with the sovereign of the country which it is requested to leave the kingdom. Its vessel is captured by a pirate of Tunis, but the bey makes it release. Income in France in January 1799, it orders artillery with the Armée with the Rhine.
Under the Consulate and the First Empire
Of 1800 with 1805, Napoleon Bonaparte entrusts to him artillery of the Armée with Italy. It is then in Germany then in Catalogne and finishes its career for health reason, after seventeen campaigns, in 1810.
